The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST
The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST is a business directory created to connect nonprofit professionals with businesses, consultants, and other nonprofits with products and services ideally suited to the unique needs of nonprofits. From accountants, banks, and insurance providers to graphic designers, printers, and fundraising consultants, the SpeciaLIST should be the first stop for any nonprofit looking to build a stronger organization.

The nonprofit sector is a tight-knit community that shares ideas, resources, and experiences for the betterment of us all. As such, your unbiased ratings, reviews, and recommendations help ensure that The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST remains a legitimate and trustworthy resource for our sector.

Tips for writing a great review:

  • Include the "why": The most helpful reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a product or service, but also why.
  • Be specific: Your review should focus on specific features of the product or service and your experience with it. Don’t hesitate to describe how it fit the specific needs of your organization.
  • Keep it concise, but don’t skip important details: Written reviews work best when at least 20 words, but should typically not exceed 200 words. Be as efficient as possible with your words, while still getting your message across.
  • Be sincere: We welcome your honest opinion about the product or service your nonprofit received—positive or negative. Your fellow nonprofits will too. We do not remove reviews because they are critical. We believe all helpful information can inform our customers’ purchasing decisions, within the content policies below.

Community Behavior

In order to protect business owners, nonprofits, and site visitors, The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST reserves the right to remove content that violates any of the content policies below:

  • Advertising or Spam: Reviews are not to be used for the purpose of advertising, such as including promotional/commercial content or adding links to other websites or phone numbers. Reviews should be a genuine reflection of your experience with the service provider.
  • Off-topic reviews: Don’t post reviews based on someone else’s experience, or that are not about the specific service provider you’re reviewing. Reviews aren’t meant to be a forum for general political or social commentary or personal rants.
  • Keep it clean: No obscene, profane, or offensive language. We’ll also remove reviews that represent personal attacks on others.
  • Conflict of interest: Reviews are most valuable when they are honest and unbiased. If you own or work at a place, please don’t review your own business or employer. Don’t offer or accept money, products, or services to write reviews for a business or to write negative reviews about a competitor.
  • Copyrighted or Illegal content: Don't post reviews that infringe other's rights—including copyrights—or contain or link to unlawful content.
  • Sexually Explicit Material: We don't allow reviews that contain sexually explicit material of any kind. Also, we absolutely don’t allow reviews that sexually exploit children or present them in a sexual manner. For this type of content, we'll remove the review, shut down the account, and send a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
  • Personal and confidential information: Reviews should not contain another person’s personal and confidential information, including credit card information, government identification number, driver’s license information, etc.
  • Hate Speech: We don't allow reviews that advocate against groups of people based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Users should take all ratings and reviews posted on The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST as individual, subjective opinions. The opinions expressed are not those of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits or The Nonprofit SpeciaLIST.
