SUMMARY:Crisis-Ready Communications: Planning for the Unplanned
DESCRIPTION:Virtual Workshop – Live/OnlineFee: $50 for MCN members / $70 for nonmembers  \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n\nKeeping a regular communications schedule can feel overwhelming on its own\, but what happens to your plan to promote your fundraising event or share a partner’s next programming event when the news cycle interferes? The best time to lay out how to respond in a crisis is before your nonprofit experiences one. Join us for a working session to learn about common tools for communications calendars and publishing\, how to interrupt that flow (and when!) and just what constitutes a crisis that needs intervention. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nSelecting and managing communications calendar tools\, including what metrics to measure for normal communications.\n\n\n\nBuilding a flow chart to decide when an event requires an interruption in that plan\, and when it may be best to let a potential “crisis” subside on its own (the Streisand Effect).\n\n\n\nFlow charts of approval and timeliness and how to move past approvals from all in favor of timely action.\n\n\n\nHow to verify information and respond when there is uncertainty.\n\n\n\nRestoring the flow after a crisis.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Event Details  \n\n\n\nThis virtual event will take place on the Zoom platform. Your access link will be emailed to you the day before the event after 12 p.m. \n\n\n\nThis session will be recorded. The recording will be made available to registrants for 14 days after the live event. \n\n\n\nCaptioning is provided automatically through Zoom. For information on requesting CART\, ASL\, or another accommodation\, please visit our Registration Policies page. \n\n\n\nTo learn more about events\, registration\, and payment\, visit our Event & Registration FAQ page. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker Information \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSteve Boland (he/him) is a nonprofit veteran with over twenty-five years of experience helping charities grow with new ideas in fundraising and communications. He has served as executive director of three organizations before founding Next in Nonprofits in 2013. Steve has presented over 100 learning sessions on topics such as crowdfunding\, engaging corporate philanthropy\, and social media strategy for nonprofits.
