Since 1999, The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) has conducted the Minnesota Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey, providing detailed compensation data for dozens of jobs in nonprofit organizations.
MCN has opened its participant recruitment period for its 2026 survey (actual survey taking place in summer of 2026), inviting Minnesota nonprofits to share salary and benefits information that will help shape valuable benchmarks for organizations wrestling with the compensation question.
Through the participation of hundreds of nonprofits (over 540 in 2024), this invaluable report will provide:
- salary and wage data for over 70 nonprofit jobs, including enhanced information for executive leadership
- results broken down by six budget categories, seven geographic regions, and 12 activity areas
- information on medical, dental, disability and life insurance, retirement, and paid time off
- compensation practices including raises, bonuses, and other incentives
Participating organizations will be asked to complete the survey as they have time between July and August 2026, with the finished report being released in October 2026. Additionally, participants will receive 50-75 percent off their copy of the finished report, with some MCN participating nonprofit members potentially accessing at no cost.
To participate in the 2026 survey, please complete our survey participation form to indicate your nonprofit’s interest* by Sunday, May 31, 2026.
*Completing the participation form simply indicates interest in taking part in the 2026 salary & benefits survey and does not, in any way, formally or otherwise legally require a nonprofit to do so.
