Minnesota Nonprofit Allies

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is part of an active network of nonprofit support agencies in our state. These Nonprofit Allies collaborate, partner, and share information to ensure that nonprofits have ample resources and services to help individual organizations accomplish their mission.


Charities Review Council - The Charities Review Council provides tools and resources to the giving public to make informed giving choices, reviews charities through its Accountability Wizard, and serves as educator to charities by providing tools and resources to organizations to meet and maintain the Council’s Accountability Standards.

GiveMN - GiveMN is Minnesota’s front door for charitable giving. GiveMN makes giving simple, rewarding, and fun – for donors, nonprofits, and schools.

Hamline University School of Business - Hamline's master in nonprofit management degree is dedicated to preparing professionals to meet the complex fiscal and operational challenges that are unique to the nonprofit sector.

Hands On Twin Cities - HandsOn Twin Cities' mission is to bring people together to strengthen communities through meaningful volunteer action. They accomplish this by working with over 250 nonprofits serving the 9 county metro area which includes Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.

Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs Public & Nonprofit Leadership Center- The Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center (PNLC) in the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota conducts research and provides workshops, conferences, and other opportunities for scholars, working professionals, and organizations, as well as courses for graduate and undergraduate students.

Initiative Foundation - Initiative Foundation works to strengthen the economy and communities of Central Minnesota through loans & financing, grants & educational programs for charitable organizations, donor services, and charitable funds.

LegalCORPS - LegalCORPS assists low-income owners of small businesses and small nonprofit organizations by connecting them with free, high-quality legal services from volunteer lawyers.

MACC Alliance - MACC (MACC CommonWealth & MACC Alliance) is a membership organization serving and supporting nonprofit human service organizations. MACC provides quality services, collaborative programs, and powerful connections for member organizations that empower them to excel in helping communities, families, and individuals thrive.

Metro Meals on Wheels - Metro Meals on Wheels is an association of independent Meals on Wheels programs in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. They provide the support needed to meet the growing demand for nutritious home-delivered meals.

Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers - MCCD is an association of nonprofit community development organizations committed to expanding the wealth and resources of neighborhoods through housing and economic development initiatives.

Metropolitan Regional Arts Council - The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC) serves audiences in Minnesota's seven-county metropolitan region through grants, services, and technical assistance to the arts communities of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.

Metropolitan State University's Master of Public and Nonprofit Administration (MPNA) program - Metro State's MPNA prepares students to provide ethical leadership within nonprofits and in the public arena.

Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration - MAVA unites administrators of structured volunteer programs as well as those who have an interest in promoting volunteerism across the state. Through its advocacy efforts, MAVA provides a respected, energetic voice for volunteerism across Minnesota.

Minnesota Campus Connect - Minnesota Campus Compact is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities committed to building partnerships with nonprofits and other community organizations to educate students for lives of engaged citizenship and to contribute to healthy, just, and sustainable communities.

Minnesota Council of Nonprofits - MCN works to inform, promote, connect, and strengthen individual nonprofits and the nonprofit sector. Through MCN, nonprofits join together across interest areas to work on issues of common concern to all.

Minnesota Council on Foundations - MCF, a community of grantmakers, works to strengthen and expand philanthropy and improve the vitality and health of communities. MCF is a regional membership association of family and private foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs.

Propel Nonprofits - Propel Nonprofits' mission is to build financially healthy nonprofits that foster community vitality. They provide loans that help nonprofits realize their visions, financial management training and resources that promote healthy financial practices, and guidance to nonprofit staff on strategic financial planning and management. Additionally, Propel provides management consulting and services as well as board recruitment and training, to large, medium, and small nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities and beyond.

Springboard for the Arts - Springboard for the Arts' mission is to cultivate a vibrant arts community by connecting artists with the skills, contacts, information, and services they need to make a living and a life.

Trellis - Trellis serves older adults, persons with disabilities, and all those who care for them through an integrated system of information, assistance, education, services, and facility-to-home support.

Twin Cities LISC - Twin Cities LISC supports nonprofit community development organizations with grants, loans and expertise to help them construct businesses, community centers, and affordable homes in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

Wilder Research - Wilder Research is a nationally respected nonprofit research and evaluation group. We partner with nonprofits, community organizations, government agencies, foundations and policymakers throughout Minnesota and the country to help them measure and improve effectiveness, identify needs and solutions, and make data-informed decisions that improve lives.

Youthprise - Youthprise acts as an incubator, connector, and relationship broker, forging connections between community-based organizations, schools, funders, public agencies, youth, and adults. Youthprise champions learning beyond the classroom so that all Minnesota youth thrive.
