This training is an introduction to federal grants, including understanding the basic terminology and where to find opportunities, how to read federal funding opportunities, and what information you need to gather to determine if an opportunity is right for your organization.
Participants will learn about:
- Required registrations
- Prospecting and assessing federal funding opportunities
- The common components of federal funding applications

Speaker Information
Sarah Wilby has been with Elevate since 2019 and is currently a Supervising Director, where she works with Grant Writers, Senior Grantwriters, and Grant Specialists and serves as a member of Elevate’s Continuous Improvement team. Her passion lies in the performing arts, with a focus on theatre, puppetry, and the aerial arts. Over the past five years, Sarah has worked with many of Elevate’s arts and arts education clients, in addition to nonprofits focused on community organizing, policy advocacy, voter mobilization, workforce development, environmental justice, de-carceration, healthcare access, youth education, and more.
