Carly spends most of her time researching and writing data-driven policy analyses that inform people-centered solutions to critical economic issues for working families. Before joining the Minnesota Budget Project, Carly served as a policy analyst for the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee, where her work focused on social insurance, racial wealth gaps, housing and education finance, and macroeconomic trends.
Carly earned a B.A. in political science from Stanford University, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs. In her education and her work, Carly has often focused on the ways that data and computer science can add value to the process of creating and implementing public policy that works for people.
In her spare time, Carly is most likely playing or coaching ultimate frisbee, learning to cook new recipes, or on an outdoor adventure.
