Demystifying Processes: Public Policy and Advocacy (FREE Event)
September 25 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm CDT
Virtual Workshop – Live/Online
Fee: FREE
From federal nonprofit tax reporting and state workplace regulations to local zoning ordinances, public policy affects every nonprofit. Effectively communicating with policymakers is an important, often-overlooked task for many organizations, especially when there’s no active ask to be made.
It is good practice for all nonprofits to ensure their elected officials understand the work they do and how legislative action (or inaction) could affect it. This interactive session will demystify the state legislative process, helping participants better understand how Minnesota nonprofits can effectively advocate for their work and sector. It will also offer tips and practice on honing the efficacy and impact of your storytelling – an important component to advocacy.
The target audience for this session is Minnesota nonprofit professionals. Staff from all levels and sectors are welcomed.
