Data Entry Specialist

(She/Her)

Gretchen Dempewolf recently joined the MCN team as the Administrative Coordinator. She offers customer service for MCN, assists colleagues at events and conferences, and provides administrative support for internal meetings. Gretchen looks forward to welcoming you to MCN’s office and answering any questions you might have. During the Fall months, Gretchen also works as a data entry specialist for MCN, compiling data from 100+ surveys for inclusion in MCN’s annual Minnesota Grants Directory.

Gretchen holds a B.A. in history, a minor in music, and a M.L.I.S. with a concentration in archives and records management. Her previous experience includes working with special collections departments at two major California universities, serving as the documents and records manager for the OSCE’s Human Rights office in Warsaw, Poland, and assisting WuXi AppTec labs in St. Paul with a retroactive archival inventory project. Gretchen has also volunteered with the registrar at the Minnesota Zoo since 2016 and has completed the Zoological Registrar Association’s official online course for certification in animal recordkeeping.

Gretchen enjoys reading, playing and listening to music, traveling and discovering new corners of the earth, learning new languages, and watching sports (Go, Wild!). She frequently visits her family in California and enjoys hosting friends who visit Minnesota. Gretchen practices the art of Kyudo (Japanese Longbow Archery), a challenging discipline that strengthens physical, mental, and inward balance. She spends as much time in nature as possible, admiring Minnesota’s many trees, flowers, birds, and other wildlife.
