Policymakers need public input to develop good ideas into good policy, and nonprofits are valued experts in our areas of specialty. Nonprofits of all shapes and sizes must partner with our governmental partners through advocacy and lobbying to cultivate strong, thriving, joyful communities.

Are you ready to dip your toe into advocacy? Maybe your toe is already in the advocacy waters and you are looking for opportunities to keep honing your skills. Wherever you are on your advocacy journey, join us and learn about how advocacy can further your organization’s mission and the nonprofit sector as a whole.

What you’ll learn:

  • Why your expertise and experience are valuable to lawmakers
  • Low-barrier ways to bring your nonprofit’s expertise and experience to lawmakers
  • The difference is between policy advocacy and politics
  • How to talk with your colleagues about the importance of advocating

Pay What You Can (PWYC)

We encourage you to pay the registration rate that is meaningful to and possible for you. While earned revenue from our events is a significant portion of our operating budget, supporting the policy and advocacy work we do on behalf of nonprofits, we aim to keep our fees accessible, often below market rate, and offer further reduced entry points for those who need them to participate in professional development. Access to critical information about the democratic process is important, which is why MCN is offering Pay What You Can rates of $0 or $29 for this event. If your participation is dependent on a PWYC rate, please register with the promo code that corresponds with your accessible price point below.

  • $0 (Code: PWYCZERO)
  • $29 (Code: PWYC29)

You will not be asked to complete an application to prove need. PWYC rates are the scholarship model for this advocacy event.
