MCN Member Briefing: State of the Sector & Policy Priorities

May 7 @ 10:00 am 11:30 am

Virtual Workshop – Live/Online
Fee: Free

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is pleased to offer the second of two virtual briefings for its members to share a State of the Sector, during which we’ll share key learnings from MCN’s Nonprofit Current Conditions Report, along with an update on legislation MCN is tracking at the state level. MCN executive director Nonoko Sato will lead these briefings in partnership with additional MCN staff. There will be time for questions and tips for members to take back to their home organizations on how to incorporate and personalize sector data into appeals to funders and legislators.

Content covered:

  • Current conditions of the nonprofit sector through a state and national lens.
  • Evolving impacts of the federal landscape on nonprofits and what MCN will be keeping a close eye on with suggestions for what nonprofits should be focused on in relation to their areas of expertise.
  • Update on legislation MCN is tracking at the state level.
  • Specific advice on what nonprofits can be doing to strengthen their operations and stay compliant. Areas of concentration: evaluating risk and compliance, board governance, succession planning, values development, scenario and budget planning, caring for staff and staying well.

Briefings are free but do require registration.
