Are you looking to improve your ability to navigate challenging conversations with coworkers? If so, join us for a participatory workshop where we’ll explore practical strategies for handling tough discussions in the workplace.
Whether it’s managing interpersonal and interdepartmental conflict, addressing sensitive topics, or re-engaging conversation after a rough start, this session will give you tools and practice to approach difficult conversations with less anxiety and more confidence.
Together, we’ll create a supportive space to share experiences, learn from each other, and leave feeling empowered to foster positive, respectful dialogue in our professional relationships.
To make the most of this experience, please come prepared with a specific conflict you are currently facing or anticipate facing in the near future. This will allow you to directly apply the insights and techniques we discuss during the session.
Learning Outcomes
- Learn and practice effective approaches to engaging in workplace conflict, and build confidence to navigate the inevitable, tensions in a generative way.
- Develop greater self awareness about how we each enter difficult conversations using the Courageous Conversations Compass Tool.
- Practice utilizing deep self reflection to better understand how to effectively express your needs and understand other’s needs.
- Utilize thoughtful conversation starter prompts to tee up and prep for difficult conversations.

Speaker Information
Levon Williams, co-founder, Rooted in Equity, is a change agent and capacity builder. He is a passionate thought partner, guiding organizations through the process of transformative change.
Levon brings a comprehensive skill set to his work, including strategy development, systems thinking, adaptive leadership, mediation, and restorative justice facilitation. His portfolio showcases his expertise in guiding leadership teams in building capacity to leverage an adaptive approach, aligning their policies and practices with inclusive design. He holds Master’s degrees in Nonprofit Management and Arts Administration from Indiana University.
Levon’s philosophy is grounded in the belief that Equity, Inclusion, & Antiracism work is both change management and heart work. He emphasizes understanding the iterative and non-linear nature of DEI work, and strives to find joy in the process, even when challenges arise. He believes in pursuing progress over perfection, mindfully practicing grace with himself and others.
