The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) invites nonprofit professionals, board members, and volunteers to join Thief River Falls Nonprofit Connect on September 10 for an opportunity to connect, share a meal, hear about the State of the Sector, and discuss roles and fiduciary duties of nonprofit board members.
Along with food, refreshments, and conversation, this free event will include:
- Board Roles and Fiduciary Duties 101: A basic overview of the duties and responsibilities that board members have as volunteer external leaders of nonprofits. We will focus primarily on basic board information and the fiduciary duties that board members have, and talk about what board members should and should not be doing.
- The State of the Nonprofit Sector: MCN has compiled original research on the nonprofit sector and updates on the changing landscape into a presentation that will help local nonprofit leaders understand the current challenges, build resiliency, and create opportunities for action through advocacy, collaboration and innovation.
