J. Murphy & Associates provides full-service grant writing, development, event management, and design services expertise to nonprofits.
Since 2006, our experienced staff has assisted organizations in achieving their goals through prospect research, information gathering for proposals, LORs/LOIs, grant writing, grant calendar creation and management, planning development strategy, marketing, communications, event management, and creative design services.
J. Murphy & Associates is registered with the State of Minnesota, the Attorney General’s Office and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (local and national).

Our experienced and collaborative team offers a wealth of expertise managing the planning, creation, and delivery of grant proposals. Offering flexible support, short- and long-term, we are committed to producing a high-quality final product, working closely with our clients every step of the way. We effectively communicate funding needs to local (small family, institutional, and corporate), regional, federal, and national funders.
Collectively, we work with our clients to create strong collaborations with staff and leadership to help reach funding goals. We are skilled in creative and technical writing, and possess strong project management skills leading to on-time submission of grants and timely follow-up.
JMA also excels at all facets of event planning: logistics (invitations, permits, and registration), menu planning, venue selection, and overall organization of the event. Fee Structure
Hourly rates to reflect expertise: $72.50/hour grant writing; $65/hour for communications and events; $75/hour for strategy
