Lumaris Research is a new survey research firm. We operate the Minnesota Community Survey, which was recently featured in Minnesota Compass, MPR News and APM Research Lab.
As a social enterprise that primarily works with nonprofits and governments, we use our research to highlight the voices of traditionally underrepresented groups. Our firm offers deep expertise in all facets of survey research, including questionnaire development, survey fieldwork, sampling, and weighting. Our work also reflects our expertise in data analysis, data visualization, and demographic research.
Every survey we conduct is a partnership that combines our knowledge of survey research with a client’s subject matter expertise. We listen and collaborate to jointly develop a research plan that produces reliable data to informs mission-critical decisions.
Our signature survey product is the Minnesota Community Survey (MCS), a representative online survey panel of Minnesota adults. Our address-recruited panel features survey takers with verified identities.
Cost savings: With the MCS, you can leave the sample and demographic survey questions to us. We include those with every survey. Since you don’t need to pay for a sample or demographic questions, you can focus your resources on high-impact questions.
Key differentiator: The MCS is built on a representative sample of Minnesotans and includes an oversample (i.e., extra-large number) of Black, Latino and Asian adults. This approach produces more accurate results for hard-to-reach groups than other surveys.
Our methodology minimizes the issue of fraudulent survey respondents, a widespread problem in non-probability surveys. This matters because fraudulent respondents cause inaccurate survey results, especially on smaller demographic groups.
