The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) announced a new nonprofit membership dues schedule set to go into effect on January 1, 2023. Our first change in dues levels in three years, the modest increases will allow MCN to better serve nonprofits through our resource creation, public policy work, educational offerings, trend-centric sector research, resource creation, and carefully crafted member benefits designed to save you time and money.
What is the value of MCN membership for your organization?
Nonprofit membership with MCN is so much more than a dollar-value proposition. That said, we know that nonprofits need to be thoughtful about how they best make use of the resources they have available. MCN works hard to continually add to and improve our existing membership benefits in an effort to ensure that our members receive the best return possible from your dues commitment.
As an active nonprofit member, you have access to discounts on our 100+ workshops, virtual trainings, and conferences; free postings on Minnesota’s largest nonprofit-specific job board ($179 value per posting); two free MCN publications each year (up to $440 value); and cost-saving partnerships with Office Depot, Bremer Bank, Unemployment Services Trust, Bremer Insurance, and more (saving members over $2M dollars annually).
Beyond the dollars and sense argument for membership, MCN members provide invaluable support to a wide array of public policy initiatives in which MCN engages on behalf of the nonprofit sector and the communities they serve each year at the local, state, and federal level. Additionally, members support valuable research initiatives that inform the government, media, and the broader public of the far-reaching positive impact of and unique challenges facing the nonprofit sector in our state and nation.
How much of a dues increase can your nonprofit expect?
For many organizations, they may see a modest increase or no increase at all. For example, organizations with budgets of $25,000 or less, will remain at the $50 dues level. All other member levels can expect to see modest increases of between $25 for organizations with small- to mid-sized budgets and $100 for the very largest of organizations.
