Every two years, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) conducts and releases the Minnesota Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey. This trusted resource provides salary data for more than 70 nonprofit positions, along with insights on executive compensation, benefits, leave policies, flexible schedules, and more, helping nonprofit leaders across the state benchmark pay and benefits, ensure equity, and make informed decisions about their most valuable asset — their people.
In 2026, this widely used report is evolving into a one-stop interactive digital dashboard*, putting powerful insights and data right at your fingertips. Upon release, nonprofit leaders will be able to filter, compare, analyze, and download/print valuable compensation and benefits date with just a few clicks. [*Note: Beginning with the 2026 edition, the survey will no longer be available as a print book.]

For MCN nonprofit members who participate in the survey, this could mean FREE or substantially discounted access to the finished interactive report! Nonmember nonprofits who participate in the survey will receive a participant discount of 50 percent off the list price or may join MCN to receive at no cost. See all pricing options below.
Completing the participation form indicates interest in taking part in the 2026 Minnesota Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey and does not, in any way, formally or otherwise legally require a nonprofit to do so. Organizations signing up to participate will be sent the survey for completion in mid-June, with a deadline for completion by August 31.
2026 Survey Timeline
February 16 – May 31: Recruitment or survey participants
June 15: Survey access instructions sent to committed participants for completion
August 31: Survey completion deadline
October 12: Finished report available and distributed
All dates tentative. MCN will endeavor to release the finished report as soon as possible.

1 Starting in 2026, the Minnesota Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey will move to a new interactive, online-only format. Member publication vouchers will no longer apply. Nonprofits that participate in the survey will automatically receive the online resource for free — no order needed.
2 Nonmembers who complete the survey have two options: 1) join MCN to receive the resource at no cost or 2) use a discount code (provided by MCN) for 50 percent off. Membership must be active prior to ordering. Refunds or adjustments will not be available after purchase.
